Evgenia Papadimas was born in Athens and started studying piano at the age of 6. She was invited to give her first recital by the Hellenic Literature Association at the age of eleven. She received her diploma in 1993 with honors under the supervision of Max Hallecker. In 1995 she won 1st Prize with Distinction at the national piano competition organized by the Christian Youth Association of Greece. She completed her postgraduate studies at the Guildhall School of Music with James Gibb (Emeritus Professor). In 1997 she was awarded a scholarship by the Hellenic State Scholarship Foundation (IKY) to complete her master’s degree on -Music in Ancient Greece- at the City University, London. She has participated in master classes with Charles Rosen. Evgenia has attended conducting lessons.
She has taken part at various chamber music festivals, including the Oxford Philomusica Festival. Evgenia has performed with various ensembles and orchestras including the ‘Athens State Orchestra’the ’ Les Petites Chanteurs de Monaco’, the’ Worthing Philharmonic’, the ‘ NHK Orchestra (Radio & Television Orchestra of Japan).She has performed between others, with Loukas Karitinos, Saulius Sodetskis, Atkuki Iyenda, Robin Page, Martin Andre.
Performances include , the Athens Concert Hall (Megaron) , the Bolivar Hall, the Leighton House, the Steinway Hall, the Wigmore Hall, the Liszt Academy in Budapest, the Academy of Fine Arts in Tirana, the Kioi Hall in Tokyo and she is regular St. Martin–in–the Fields in London. Her appearances include cities such as Athens, London, Paris, Tirana, Budapest, Zurich, Bern, Düsseldorf , Tokyo. Evgenia Papadimas has performed live for the Greek National Radio 3 (ERT). Her recording of sir Patrick Moore’s nocturne was premiered on BBC Radio 3. She has recorded for BBC Radio 4. In October 2010 she gave a piano master class at the Barbican for the BBC1 television chanel. Her recording material includes works by, Brahms, Chopin Liszt, Poulenc, Debussy, Rachmaninoff.
Evgenia has released the album –Atmosphera – with Sony.
