Luciano Maggiore (Palermo 1980) vive e lavora a Bologna. Musicista attivo nel
campo della musica elettroacustica, negli ultimi anni ha sviluppato un forte
interesse nei confronti dei meccanismi di diffusione del suono, utilizzando speaker
e vari supporti analogici e digitali (walkman, lettori cd, registratori a bobina) come
primo strumento.
Hooker, Seiji Morimoto, Seijiro Murayama, Teatro Valdoca, Zapruder
Il suo lavoro è edito da Boring Machines e Senufo Editions.
Luciano Maggiore: " Intersezioni di Vortici, Studi Ritmici e False Chimere"
..is a suite of ten short compositions for modular analog synthesizer (except for one track that incorporates a few sounds recorded with a microphone). Initially conceived as series of studies on panning and phasing, the work ended to incorporate parts of two other series, all realised in Bologna between November 2011 and March 2012.
Nicola Ratti lives and works in Milan. The use of sound and its almost craftmanship creation pushes his own
music research to get through electroacoustic compositions, melodic-rhythmic patterns and nearby an area
that could be easily placed between music concrete and minimal techno with a generous use of improvisation.
Today, alongside his solo career, with discs produced by Anticipate (U.S.), Preservation (AU), Megaplomb (IT),
Die Schachtel (IT) and concerts in Europe and North America, he works on valuable collaborations such as the
soundtrack-band Ronin where he plays guitar since 2006, the duo " Bellows" with Giuseppe Ielasi with whom
he shares a radical sound research and the duo FaravelliRatti with Attila Faravelli in which the guitar loses its
horizons in the colleague's world of prepared speakers. With them he has produced several records for Italian
and foreign labels.
He's also, with Fatima Bianchi, the co-founder of FeN Bureau, an art entity for the production of video and
Nicola Ratti works as an architect in Gru Architetti, a multidisciplinary team based in Milan, he runs the art/
installation branch of the office.
Nicola Ratti: " Streengs"
..Employing a spartan setup of analogue synthesizer fed into delay/looping device, amplified with two audio transducers placed on the strings of a grand piano, Ratti creates dense, dynamic sound worlds where every small movement, background noise and echo becomes a vivid occurrence in its own right. Remarkably the whole album was recorded in realtime, during a residency at Hotel Pupik, Schrattenberg. But that'll be hard to believe once you hear how precise and apparently measured it all feels...This is a visceral, beguiling and complex album recommended to those who like to listen closely.
