Babylonia is the musical brainchild of Max Giunta and Robbie Rox. The band began in 2003 in Milan with the release of the single Without Asking Me. This was followed by their debut album Later Tonight (2006), which was well received by the music press. It was released around the world by the German label Infacted Recordings and was supported by a number of concerts all over Europe, including Berlin, Frankfurt, Prague and Bratislava, as well as Paris and other cities.
The band has had opened for various cult electronic bands including Client, IAMX and Melotron.
In 2008 Babylonia won an award at the M.E.I. in Faenza in the electronic music section. In January 2010 Babylonia released their second album “Motel La Solitude” for which the band turned to the sound engineer Marco Barusso (Nek, Lacuna Coil, Modà, HIM, Eros Ramazzotti and others).
The singles released from that album (By My Side, Myself Into Myself and Ethereal Connection) appeared on Italian radio, and the videos, directed by Stefano Bertelli (Cristina Donà, Caparezza and others), were featured on the main Italian music channels. The band has toured in many Italian and European cities including Moscow, Barcelona, Istanbul, Bratislava, Madrid and St Petersburg and were chosen by the Pet Shop Boys to open their Italian tour. On 29 June Babylonia’s world was stunned by the untimely demise of Robbie Rox.
Max decided to continue with the Babylonia project, as a mark of respect for everything that they had done together, and released “The Ethereal Collection”, a limited edition, numbered vinyl record issued as a tribute to Robbie. The album features the moving ballad written by Robbie “Io Sono Il Deserto” with special guest vocals by Alice, famous for her hit “Per Elisa”.
In September 2012 the third album, “Tales of Loving Hearts”, was released – a special album of new songs and covers (including Rita Pavone’s Fortissimo, Giuni Russo’s La sua Figura and OMD’s Of All The Things We’ve Made).
Robbie was a great animal lover and the proceeds of the CD went to the “Cane Amico” dog’s home in Palermo.
In June 2015 Babylonia returned with their new single “Love Is Healing”, produced by Steve Lyon, the famous London-based producer who has worked on albums by artists of the calibre of Depeche Mode, The Cure, Subsonica and Laura Pausini.
“Love Is Healing” is taken from the new album “Multidimensional” due to be released in September 2015"
