SACI MA in Art History Thesis Presentations

On April 4th from 7 to 8 pm, SACI MA in Art History students will present their thesis projects and discuss how their research has developed over the past eight months in Florence. Exploring historical periods from the Renaissance to Modern Art, with subjects ranging from the life of Mario Minniti and Elisabetta Sirani, to the Pre-Raphaelites, to the use of art in propaganda, the MA candidates will offer a summary of their research through a discussion of the artists, artworks, journals, and political controversies that have shaped their thesis arguments. Guests will be invited join the conversation by offering feedback and asking questions at an informal question and answer session with the MA students following the presentations. Melissa Kirk, Meredith Taylor, Allison Tomasello, Myrto Tsagamili, Katherine Kontura Please join us for great conversation and light refreshments. SACI’s MA in Art History program offers students the unique opportunity to earn their master’s degree in the city in which the Renaissance began and contemporary art continues to flourish. Students work closely with top faculty who are both accomplished art historians and deeply committed mentors, in a flexible graduate program that balances supervised independent study with classroom study. Graduate seminars explore historiography and research methodology, covering a broad range of art history topics as well as those specific to student research interests. The program also includes many unique research and on-site learning opportunities, and students travel to artistically important historical sites and major museums throughout Italy and Europe.
