International Piano Competition 'The Neapolitan Masters'

 

 

The Associazione Mousikè organizes the International Piano Competition ‘ The Neapolitan Masters’ in the Conservatory of Music ‘San Pietro a Majella’ in Naples – Italy, in Dicember 2018 from 5 to 9. The Competition is official member of the Alink-Argerich Fundation. Categories The categories admitted to the competition are: Junior Category A: ages 10 and under Maximum 7 minutes. The music program is free Category B: ages 11 – 13 Maximum 10 minutes. The music program is free Young Category A: ages 14 – 16 Maximum 15 minutes. The music program is free Category B: ages 17 – 19 Maximum 20 minutes. The music program is free The Neapolitan Masters Prize ages 16 – 36 or less at the time of the competition PRE-SELECTION with VIDEO RECORDING: The recording should contain a free program, maximum duration 15 minutes. Editing of the recordings is not allowed, but separate works or movements can be from different takes. Entry Fees The non-refundable application fees are as follow: Junior: Category A: € 60,00 Category B: € 70,00 Young Category A: € 80,00 Category B: € 90,00 The Neapolitan Masters Prize: € 120,00 (for Pre-Selection with Video Recording) Deadlines Junior (A-B) and Young (A-B) categories: All the amount must be payed before the 18 November 2018. The Neapolitan Masters Prizes: The candidates must send the video with payment before the 9 November 2018 Rounds Rounds of the Neapolitan Masters Prize A maximum of 50 candidates will be admitted to the 1st round SEMIFINAL Free choice recital. Maximum length: 15 minutes. It’s recommended to include at least one pice written by the Neapolitan composer Giuseppe Devastato (President of the jury) in this round, for Special Prize offered by Giuseppe Devastato. DOWNLOAD HERE ARCHIVE FINAL Free choice recital. Maximum length: 40 minutes. Be allowed repeat works performed in the first round. The repertoire will consist of works chosen by the pianist and one or more works (minimum length: 5 minutes ) of the Neapolitan Composers. When deciding the Prize for the Best Neapolitan Music Performer the jury will take into account if you include in the final program a work by a Neapolitan Composer of your choice of the 18th, 19th, or 20st Century. It’s possible to play one by one of the Neapolitan Composers: D. Scarlatti, F. Durante, D. Cimarosa, C. Palumbo, A. Longo, G. Martucci, S. Thalberg etc The Prize for the Best Neapolitan Masters Music Performer can be given to any participant who doesn’t pass to the Final Round. We will announce the finalists before 19 November 2018
